YOGYAKARTA - Universitas Pembangunan Veteran Yogyakarta became the best for the category of Higher Education in the National Inter-school Swimming Championship and  College2019. The championship held in Yogyakarta took place at the Tirta Krida Swimming Pool, AAU.  UPN got nine gold medals from the competition.

UPN Veteran Yogyakartabeat Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), Buleleng, which only earned four gold, two silver and two bronze. The success of the UPN was inseparable from the success of its flagship swimmer, Valeria Pauline. Valeria won all nine gold medals .

Similarly, Dewa Gede Anom Arth got the four golds obtained by Undiksha. The phenomenal achievement was actually achieved by young swimmers from Denpasar, Ni Putu Pande Lisa Primasari who won 11 gold and delivered her home schooling, namely HS Primagama, Denpasar, to be the best in the SD category.

HS Primagama beat its rival who also comes from Bali, SDN 3 Banjar Jawa, who took home 10 gold. Followed by SDN Sidorejo, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta got nine gold and one silver. "Pande Lisa is indeed a talented swimmer. We hope that her achievements will increase. Her achievements in the National Championship are quite impressive. She can get a lot of medals for competing in some categories, "said Ismadi, Chairperson of the National Executive Committee, Tuesday (5/2/2019).

For the junior high school category, Santa Ursula Bandung Middle School was chosen as the best by winning nine gold. All medals were donated by Philomena Balinda. Santa Ursula Middle School beat SMP 3 Sleman, which got six gold and two silvers. While SMAN 2 Sragen appeared as the best in the high school category. The school won three gold, three silver and one bronze.

DIY and Bali competed strictly for the best athletes. Both DIY and Bali were recorded as contributing five of the best swimmers for the category of KU 1 to senior male and female seniors.Students from SMA 1 Budi Mulia Dua Sleman, Muhammad Syarlif Lukman, became the best one in the male KU 1 . Syarlif won two golds and one bronze. An impressive achievement was also won by Nabila Zalma Hermanza from SDN Sidorejo, Sleman. Nabila who appeared at KU 4 won nine gold medals. She became the best one in her KU.

"The existence of swimmers who are still in elementary school shows that DIY does not lack of talented young generations. We sincerely hope that their achievements will improve along with their age. They can also be able to increase their race hours because there are more championships held in Yogyakarta. They can also join other championships in other regions, "said Boyke Dharma, Chair of the Sleman Swimming Club Forum.
