SLEMAN - 2019 SNMPTN registration was officially closed on February 19, 2019 at 22.00 WIB. The registration, which was opened from February 4 to 14, 2019, had experienced an extension for twice. The Higher Education Institute Admission Test (LTMPT) provided the first extension for the registration until February 16, 2019. Then, LTMPT gave the second time extension until February 19, 2019.
"The extension yesterday was because the server was stuck due to the fact that registrants were still registering and completing the finalization stage at the time of inventory," said UPNVY Chancellor, M. Irhas Effendi, Monday (02/25).
On the closing schedule, there were 8,643 registrants for 2019 National Higher Education Entrance Admission (SNMPTN) to determine their choice at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
From these figures, said Irhas, as many as 4,442 registrants placed UPNVY as the first choice (PTN 1) and 4,201 applicants placed UPNVY as the second choice (PTN 2).
Irhas said that if it was compared to previous years, namely 2017 and 2018, the interest of UPNVY registrants through the SNMPTN pathway declined this year. UPNVY registrants were 12,734 in 2017, while there were 13,957 applicants in 2018.
"Almost all Higher Education Institutions experienced a decline in registrants, it was due to a decrease in the quota for the acceptance of the SNMPTN. "UPNVY itself only allocates 20% of the total capacity this year," said Irhas.
In the registration of SNMPTN at UPNVY, there were three favorite study programs chosen by interested people, namely Mining Engineering, Management and Communication Sciences.
The lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business said at the admission of new students this year, UPNVY received as many as 3,180 students from all selection. For the admission path, SNMPTN received 636 students, SBMPTN 1,591 students, and Independent Selection as many as 953 students.
Irhas explained, with the expiration of the registration time, the committee would begin the process of formulating the final finalization of student grades. This process was by analyzing the grades of the first semester to semester V, taking into account of the track record, school performance, application of the national selection criteria, and criteria set by each PTN. The main principles in SNMPTN are fair, accountable and transparent.
"The selection process begins with the selection of applicants in the first choice PTN based on the order of study program choices. If applicants who choose study programs at two PTNs do not pass the first choice, PTN will select the second choice of PTN based on the order of study programs and the availability of capacity, " he explained.
While, the announcement of SNMPTN graduation will be held on March 23, 2019 at 15.00 WIB. (wwj / PR)
