YOGYAKARTA - Technological sophistication has made beginners, especially millennials, pursue and continue to experiment with photography. Besides that, the world of photography is not only dominated by men photographers now, but also by female ones, one one of them is Niken Pamikatsih.

"Many photographers doubt me; can it be a female photographer hike on a mountain? But I tried to prove it and motivate myself that a woman could hike on the mountain. Not only being a photographer, I tried to fulfill my obligation to be a good wife and mother for my child, "said Niken sharing her experience at the Workshop and Photography Competition at The Hype Kulture Jogja (04/21).

The event with the theme of “Women in Frame" was organized by students of Public Relations Marketing, Communication Science, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) in collaboration with PSW UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta to commemorate Kartini Day.

This event was deliberately held for the millennial generations who want to work in the world of photography.

The lecturers of Public Relations Marketing, Dr. Puji Lestari and Yudhy Widya Kusuma, hope that students can apply various theories and concepts that have been learned.

"With the implementation of the event, students can apply the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Public Relations marketing programs. They can be competence in group collaboration and get experience in managing events with many different partners," said Puji.

Students are also required to have activity publications to prepare themselves before going to the workforce.

Not inferior to the excitement of the workshop, the competition was also an activity awaited by the participants. The enthusiasm of the participants was very big; it was seen from them taking pictures of the models with their different techniques.

The event took place beautifully and lively when the acoustic performance of the UKM of Arts UPNVY increased the atmosphere of excitement of this event.
