Sleman _ The Students Organization of Mapala Nature Lovers UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (Mapala UPNVY) will hold an Expedition to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on July 17, 2019. This expedition will be divided into two exploration expeditions "Pesona Alam NTT” (Enchantment of NTT Nature) which will later explore researches on caves and kars water in NTT. The second expedition is a social service. Mapala UPNVY will share 1,000 books to the NTT residents. The locations of the expeditions that will be visited are four villages, namely Tarung Village, Prai Ijing Village, Anapalu Village, and Pasunga Traditional Village.
Dr. Ir. Singgih Saptono, MT as the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation said that he appreciated the Mapala UPNVY Expedition to NTT, because this activity is one of the the manifestations of the implementation of the values ??of Bela Negara (State Defense) which is one of the characteristics of UPNVY that is not owned by other universities throughout Indonesia.
"We are happy and proud, because UPNVY is present in the community represented by Mapala UPNVY", added the Deputy Chancellor for Cooperation and Student Affairs.
Stefanus Feby Nugroho, as the chairman of Mapala UPNVY said that NTT is an Indonesian land that has a rich diversity of cultures. We as students are interested in introducing the beauty of cultural diversity more closely. The NTT Expedition Activity is a concrete manifestation of Mapala UPNVY in applying the responsibility of Higher Education, namely the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which contains Education and Teaching, Research and Development, and Community Service.
"We hope that we can contribute to Indonesia through these expedition activities. Hopefully, the results of this expedition can reveal more of the natural beauty of NTT and the results of the research can be beneficial for institutions, namely the beloved campus."
After this activity, Mapala UPNVY will organize an exhibition from the results of the research on the results of exploration activities in NTT.
