UPNVY HAD FLAG CEREMONY TO COMMEMORATE 17 AUGUST 2019 :: dipost pada 19 Agustus 2019

Sleman - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a flag ceremony, commemorating the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019. This ceremony was simultaneously with the closing activities of introduction to the State Defense Campus Life (PKK-BN) 2019 held from 12 - 17 August . The ceremony was attended by thousands of lecturers, education staffs, and new students, Saturday, August 17, 2019.

In this ceremony, the UPNVY Chancellor Dr. Irhas Effendi, MS as the lead of the ceremony read the remarks from the Minister of Ristekdikti who spoke about the sub-theme commemorating the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019 with the theme "SUPERIOR HUMAN RESOURCE, INDONESIA COMES FORWARD".

"The commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia 2019 must be interpreted as a moment of unifying the nation and  we have an obligation to maintain and develop the results of independence. Independence should make us do more for the nation and state of Indonesia", Muhamad Nasir said in his remarks.

He further explained that the human resource development was the key to Indonesia's success and the success in the future. Indonesian human resources must excel in all fields so that they can compete globally, especially when entering the industry 4.0 era. We are aware that the industry progress that is running in Indonesia is not enough just with infrastructure. It must be supported by improving the quality of human resources. It can be achieved by improving the education to run the technological advancements in line with industry 4.0.

"In creating superior human resources, the universities must appear as the frontline in producing superior and competitive human resources in the future. One thing that must be taken is to always improve the quality of higher education human resources and prepare themselves to be able to adapt to achieve success in building the nation. Do not be too quickly satisfied with the achievements and competencies that we have and fall asleep in a comfort zone, "Nasir added.

"In enhancing "Advanced Indonesian Superior HR, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta gave Satyalancana Karya honors to 13 UPNVY civil servants which were given from the President of the Republic of Indonesia. The following 13 civil servants who earned the Satyalancana title were Dr. Arief Subyantoro, MS, Dr. I Ketut Nama, MS, Ir. Dyah Arbiwati, MP, Dr. Ir. Miseri, MP, Dr. Drs. Haddy Suprapto, M.Sc, Drs Sudarman, MM, Ir. Ni Made Suyastiri Yani Permai, MP, Dr.Ir. Yosaphat Sumantri, MT, Dr. Ir. Barlian Dwi Nagara, MT, Ir. Darban Haryanto, MP, Dra Sri Wahyu Murni, MT, Isbandi, S. Sos, M.Sc and Hidayatullah Himawan, ST, MM, M.Eng.

 "Our strategic and operational efforts towards the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 include improving lecturer-student ratios, increasing internationalization, increasing citation and impact from research, increasing the number of lecturers who are doctorates and increasing research collaborations with industry," explained the UPNVY Chancellor.  

UPNVY Chancellor added, with the challenges of the world today, UPNVY must continue to adjust the curriculum and increase the capacity of students to match the needs of society and industry and bring benefits in solving the nation's problems.

To realize these ideals, he invited all UPNVY academicians to work harder and consistently, carry out effective collaboration internally and externally, as well as readily see the dynamics of environmental change.

"Let's further up the strategy and organization of UPNVY, we unite energy, join hands to realize superior human resources and advanced Indonesia," added the Chancellor.
