Lecturers and Academic Staffs Attended MC and Public Speaking :: dipost pada 18 September 2019

SLEMAN - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a Master of Ceremony (MC) and Public Speaking training for lecturers and academic staffs in UPNVY's internal environment for two days, 17-18 September 2019.

The competency training of MC and Public Speaking was carried out by experts of communication.

"This activity is one of the steps to improve Human Resources (HR) in the MC and Protocol fields in the UPN Veterans Yogyakarta environment."

Susanta said that the development of the human resources quality of public relations and protocols at UPNVY needed to be improved. He hopes that the participants use this momentum to develop the MC profession, so that all participants can apply it in the work unit.

"Hopefully, through this training, there will be MCs or great and professional event guides besides we have MC personnel who are ready to perform and able to show their abilities in various types of events," he explained.

This MC and public speaking training was attended by 17 participants from various work units at UPNVY. This training also taught about the basics of protocol so that participants would understand the attitudes, appearance, and behavior.

"Protocol knowledge is not only for protocol officers, but alsp for everyone to have better understanding of the reason why there must be a protocol for providing services to an activity or event”, explained Sukisman, Head of UPNVY Staffing.

On the same occasion, Rita Afrilawati, one of the participants, admitted that she was lucky to be able to join the training that was initiated by the Personnel Division.

"This training is very useful and makes us be confidence because we are also given its theory," she said.

This training, said Rita, was an opportunity to develop and improve her abilities as a public relations officer at UPNVY. She hopes that this kind of activity will continuely be carried out so that lecturers and academic staff can be professional MCs.
