SLEMAN - Mohammad Abdul Khafid, a student of Environmental Engineering Department of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) successfully published his research results in international journals indexed by Scopus after becoming a presenter at the 1st International Seminar on Natural Resources and Environmental Management (ISENREM 2019), on 15th August 2019.
ISENREM 2019 is an international student conference held by the Master of Natural Resource and Environmental Management Study Program, Bogor Agricultural University. ISENREM 2019 is a forum for those involved in the management of natural resources and the environment that brings together academics, researchers, communities to share research
The international seminar which was held for the first time was attended by students from Indonesia and abroad, namely Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, Brunei, Thailand, Germany and from South Africa.
Khafid was the only UPNVY representative who passed a fairly rigorous and lengthy selection process. "Of thousands of students applying from all over the world, there are only a few students accepted, this is one of the triggers of my enthusiasm to show the best during the program", he explained.
Before making a presentation, M. Abdul Khafid had passed the administration and research abstract selection stages.
Khafid made a reseach on "Correlation analysis of the impact of land cover change and ratio of vehicles on the dynamic of land surface temperature". The research was conducted in Cirebon, the result of the research was on the impact of land changes, and the dynamics of motor vehicles on surface temperature. The result shows that the vegetation density in Cirebon has decreased, the number of vehicles continuely increases every year, and affects the surface temperature which has increased, especially in areas that have a vehicle potential map of 13,001 - 20,000 units per day.
"The reason for having the theme is due to the phenomenon of microclimate changing that is common in Indonesia", he explained.
At this conference, Khafid had the opportunity to present his work in front of the delegations from various countries and successfully passed for publication in the IOP Conference Series Earth and Environmental Science (Indexed Scopus).
