Yogyakarta - Welcoming the inauguration of the president and vice president, Joko Widodo and Ma'ruf Amin, Sunday (10/20/2019), Yogyakarta residents held a Red and White Parade along Jalan Malioboro. Having this parade, the participants hoped that Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin could prosper Indonesia.

detikcom monitored hundreds of participants wearing colorful costumes gathered at the DPRD office DIY. They then walked along Malioboro Street. The students of UPN 'Veteran' Yogyakarta were seen in the front row, unfurled banners reading 'Red and White Parade Welcoming the Inauguration of the President  & Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo & KH. Ma'ruf Amin'.

Also, the maids of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace participated in the parade. There are also two ox-carts in whch each of them carryied a photo of Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin.

Not to forget, three mountain replicas: one consisted of Bakpia, one consisted of zalacca and the last one consisted of Geplak mountains were paraded by the participants. There was an interesting sight in the back row where the participants unfurled a red and white flag along 74 meters.

"So, the people of Yogyakarta held a cultural celebration today, entitled the red and white parade from Yogyakarta for Indonesia", said the coordinator of the Red and White Parade, Widihasto Wasana Putra when being met at the DPRD office DIY on Saturday (10/19/2019).

"This cultural celebration is a form of gratitude, as well as the hope of the people of Yogyakarta for Indonesia will have a new president and vice president, elected from democratic and constitutional election results", he continued.
