SLEMAN - Speaking of the nation defense, in our minds there will be an act of defending what is imbued with a sense of love for the nation and the state, the meaning of the state defense itself is actually the attitude or behavior of citizens imbued with a sense of nationalism towards the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution in living the life of the nation and state. The purpose of defending the country itself is to maintain the survival of the nation and state, to preserve culture, to practice the values ??of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution and to maintain the identity and integrity of the state.
In the current era of globalization, there are many things we can do in an effort to realize our love for this country. One of them is through a variety of learning methods carried out by Magister of Management students of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
They carried out various activities including gathering and discussion which was packaged as a National Defense Outbound in Kaliurang on Friday (11/10). This activity was an effort in the context of understanding the State Defense and its implementation in the profession of each student who is mostly employees. Lecturers who support the subject of Defending Country guided this open-ended discussions in a relax atmosphere as it is done in the classroom.
Other activities included a visit to Parampara Praja DIY on October 17, 2019. Parampara Praja is the Advisory Board of the Governor of DIY, a new institution in the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which consists of nine people chaired by Prof. Dr. Mahfud MD. The new institution is tasked in providing input to the Governor in the implementation of the Special Region Yogyakarta Act No. 13/2012.
On this visit, the students held a discussion with Prof., Dr. dr, Soetaryo Sp. A (K), one of the advisory members. In this discussion, the Provincial Government of DIY carried out various problems and efforts in the fields of ideology, politics, economics, social culture and defense and security. The dialogue and discussion discussed more specifically about the handling of problems of juvenile delinquency, radicalization, drugs, and terrorism.
On November 25, 2019, as the representatives of MM class, 34 students visited the Bantul District Parliament. On this occasion, the students were accepted in the Plenary Meeting Building of the Bantul Regency DPRD. The materials given were from the Military District Command (KODIM), Major Agus, from Kesbangpol, Mrs. Novi, from Commission A, Mr. Agus Salim, Mr. Kardiono and Mr. Jumakir, while from Commission C, Mr. Suradal. The Chairperson and most Board members were unable to attend because they were holding a meeting related to budgeting.
Another activity was a visit to the Bantul Regional Representative Council. The students gained knowledge about the tasks and obligations of the board members during this visit. In addition, the representatives of KODIM Bantul also explained about the territorial development in the Bantul Regency area. The representative from Kesbangpol provided a material on strengthening ideology and fostering the political field in Bantul and DPRD explained about the process of capturing the people’s aspirations which were then fought for and escorted in terms of budgeting and regulation and supervision.
