This activity was attended by various elements of society, from students to civil society. It was also attended by the BPIP Steering Board Special Staff, Father Benny Susetyo Pr, Professor of Gajah Mada University Prof. Drs Koentjoro MBSc PhD and UPN "Veteran" Chancellor Dr. Muhamad Irhas Effendi MS.
"The emergence of identity politics after the unfavorable national political situation forces us to always look for other people's differences. Yet, what needs to be instilled is that this nation does not belong to the majority and minority, or certain religious sectors. This nation belongs to Indonesian people", explained Father Benny.
In addition, Father Benny also said that the problem of worship places is always difficult in any case. There always arise majority and minority though Pancasila house always teaches unity in maintaining differences in belief.
"It means that if Pancasila has become a national habitus, there will be no prohibitions such as matters of worship and belief. Now, we must be able to create public order as a reference in caring for Unity in Diversity", he continued.
Father Benny also alluded to the millennial generation which is the generation of the hopes of nation and unity. Ethnic, religious and racial sentiments are very complex matters in this digital age. Moreover, we get in to a media situation whose development is so devastating, where sentiment is very easy to emerge and disseminate. If we are not ready to face the form of this new era, then as a nation, it will lose its sovereignty.
Maintaining unity and humanity in the digital age is not just looking for sensations. We must be prepared to face it with the belief of a good nation and state. The millennial generation must be creative and visionary to see the situation for a better change. Millennial generation must also be able to overcome the network which is binding brotherhood.
Father Benny did not highlight the violence in places of worship that often occur in this country. He mentioned that the house of worship violence could occur because they began to lose themselves. Humans are divided by religion and difference. Meanwhile, religion is a belief in each of them which is part of the difference that must be respected. Father Benny emphasized that violence is a pockmarked face that damages the face of civilization, as a result the people no longer believe in guarantees of the security and comfort of the country.
"Pancasila must be a habitus, a value in our daily lives. Let's become an independent human being so that we can show the identity of the Indonesian people”, said Father Benny. (Feb)
