SLEMAN - After going through the 8 semesterc of the lecture period, finally Masa'Aid graduated. He got to the stage accompanied by his parents. Yet, it was not the pleasure he felt. He was sad because his mother could not be with him to receive an award from the Chancellor. His mother has laid sick due to suffering from a tumor on the head for 2 years.
"Actually, my mother is getting better and plans to bring a family group to attend the graduation ceremony. Yet, her condition does not allow her to come to the graduation”, he said.
Masa'id said that during his final assignment, he had to commute from Jogja to Slamet Riyadi Hospital, Solo, where his mother was being treated.
"When I did my thesis examination, my mother got a surgery to remove the tumor. This week the operation will be held again", he said in tears.
At present, his mother is preparing to undergo a cranial surgery. Both of these operations require a significant amount of 75 million rupiahs. For the sake of his mother's recovery, Masa'id attempted to borrow money from relatives.
"After I get work, I'll save my salary to pay off debts. We only have one piece of rice field, not enough to pay off debts", he said softly.
He prayed for the healing of his mother and tried to keep his other promises to have his parents go for the pilgrimage. (wwj / PR)
