Sleman - Communication Science Study Program Student Association (HIMAKOM) of Communication Science Study of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Program Faculty, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) raises assistance for people directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity has started from 21 to 27 April 2020 and the peak day is on 6 May 2020.

The program titled "Communication of Sharing" distributed aids in the form of packaged rice, mineral water, and masks directly to those in need to the online motorcycle taxis, parking attendants, pedicab drivers, and others. Sharing Communication Activities were held in three areas, namely, Laksda Adisutjipto Street, C. Simanjuntak Street, and Kusumanegara Street. The activities took place in the afternoon before breaking the fast. The distribution was directly carried out by students and alumni of communication science, some others also participated in Student Study Groups (KSM) such as Avikom, Fotkom, and CrastFM.

Ariesca Paskatia added that in the activity there were a total of 547 packs of rice, 155 bottles of mineral water, and 220 masks distributed by UPNVY students and alumni of Communication Studies, as well as   50,000 rupiah in cash. Previously, HIMAKOM received donations in the form of packaged rice and cash from lecturers and administrators.

"Initially the work program designed by HIMAKOM was a fast breaking gathering of communication program (BUBAKOM) which aims for students, KSM, and alumni to be closer to the others. Yet, having the current conditions that prohibit the implementation of various activities on campus, the work program is shifted to Sharing Communication without losing its essence," explained the Head of Internal External Affairs of HIMAKOM.

The Head of Internal External Affairs Division of HIMAKOM hopes that friends who usually join BUBAKOM can still feel it by sharing it with friends who need it.
