The Task Force Team for the Prevention of Handling Covid-19 Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) through Eko Teguh Paripurno as the Team Leader handed over 15 sets of APDs and 5 boxes of medical masks @ 50 pcs to Public health Center (Puskesmas) Sewon 1 Bantul, Monday (11 / 5). The assistance came from the BNPB Covid-19 Task Force Volunteer Division through the Indonesian Alumni Association of UPN Veterans (IAUPN).

"The assistance is part of the Partner Village Community Strengthening Program in dealing with Covid-19. Strengthening is not only to the village community, but also to the nearest health service center," said Eko, accompanied by UPNVY Covid-19 Task Force Team Deputy, Arif Riyanto Budi Nugroho, and UPNVY FIP Communication Communication Lecturer, Panji Dwi Ashrianto.

The representative of Puskesmas Sewon 1 Bantul, dr. Endar, who had previously communicated with the Head of the Task Force Team, appreciated the effort. It is one way to strengthen the relationship between the residents and their nearest Puskesmas.

Similar donations, said Eko, will soon be handed over to Puskesmas, especially for those in their working areas where there are independent isolation houses owned by thr residents.

"The Puskesmas are in the sub-districts of Depok, Dukuh, Selo, Cangkringan, and Ngemplak, as well as others in the Jogjakarta area and beyond," said Eko.

At this time, continued Eko, UPNVY and other "penthahelix" stakeholders worked together to support Tembi Residents to create and prepare an Independent Isolation House. The chancellor of UPNVY, Mohamad Irhas Effendi, recently carried out the launching of the facilitation. In addition to capacity building support, assistance is also in the form of meeting the needs of life for residents who will undergo independent isolation.

"By chance the owner of the house, the Indonesian Society of Nature Observer (Kappala) Lovers, allowed the secretariat office to be modified by the residents into a 4-room isolation house," explained Eko.

According to the Tembi community leaders and the owner of Leksa Ganesha Batik Gallery, Tatang Elmy Wibowo, the selection of the Independent Isolation House was a request and the result of a community agreement.

"The residents also facilitate activities for children to avoid the boredom during the Corona pandemic by having a drawing competition with the theme of health and hygiene campaigns, and farming. Meanwhile, UPNVY, through the Covid-19 Task Force Team, helped the socio-economic and food security of the residents through the support of catfish enlargement, gardening and the manufacture of non-medical masks," explained Tatang.

As for the community around the campus, the UPNVY Covid-19 Task Force Team and BNI UGM Branch has distributed 149 food packages to the residents of Tambakbayan hamlet, Catur Tunggal, Depok, Sleman. It is targeted that all hamlets residents around the UPNVY campus will receive assistance as well.
