Sleman_ Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian, a student of Agrotechnology, Agriculture Faculty of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta represents the National Student Achievement Election (Pilmapres) event. Pilmapres is a routine activity organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). The purpose of this activity is as a prestigious event for students in Indonesia who have achievements.
Mursito, MM as the Head of Student Affairs Department of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta said that this year the representative of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) who successfully passed the National Pilmapres of Bachelor was Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian, Agrotechnology student of the Agriculture Faculty of 2017.
Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian, a representative of UPNVY at the Pilmapres event stated that she felt happy because she could represent UPNVY to partcipate in competing with other outstanding students from various universities in Indonesia.
"I hope to be able to carry the good name of UPNVY and prove that UPNVY students are able to continue to develop and excel," she explained.
The former Chair of the Membership Public Relations Division of ECDC UPNVYK 2018 also stated that she got several achievements, including Study Visit Delegation at Western Sydney University, Australia 2019, Best Presentation of the National Essay Competition at Agrisco UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta 2019, Paper Proceeding "Biodiesel Algae as an alternative renewable energy source" at Spectrioner of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta 2019, Participants of the 2019 ALSA Crushbone Debating Competition Version 13 UGM Yogyakarta, 3rd National Runner Up Essay and Poster Agriscientival UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta 2018, and various other achievements. In addition, she also actively joined several organizations and communities such as UKM English Conversation and Discuss Club (ECDC) UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, and many more.
"Beauty, Behavior, Brain, and Brave" as well as "Man Jadda Wa Jada, Man Shabara Zhafira" which means who truly earnestly gets and whoever is patient will be lucky," are Tan’s motto, she explained when being asked online.
"Thank God, I am very grateful to Allah SWT for His bleesing to be the delegation of the National Pilmapres 2020. I did not expect because the process so far has been fairly straightforward. I felt happy, afraid and could not think a lot because I will carry the mandate and enormous responsibility despite many of my limitations,” she explained.
