Sleman - Student Activity Unit (UKM) of UPN “Veteraran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) is holding an Online Art Show From Home exhibition during the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity has been carried out online at Instagram, June 25-July 8, 2020. The purpose of this activity is to remain productive, creative and innovative in the pandemic.
Naufal as the Head of Graphic Art Sub Unit of UKM Art said that the Online Art Show from Home exhibition had been held twice. The first exhibition attracted the attention of graphic design enthusiasts among students of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. Then, the second exhibition began to be able to attract interest from the general public, especially graphic design lovers. So, this activity will be planned to be carried out offline in the future, of course, after the pandemic ends.Having it offline, it will certainly be more attractive to graphic design enthusiasts and can introduce graphic design.
The Head of Graphic Design Sub Unit of UKM Art added that the participants of the Online Art Show From Home exhibition were not only students of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, but it were also more general in nature so that all those who had graphic works and wanted their work to be displayed at online exhibitions were very welcome. The exhibition is held not only to publish the graphic works of the participants, but it also to introduce graphic works to the general public. The exhibition, which takes place during June 25-July 8, 2020, does not require whether graphic works are created digitally or manually, so that any works will be accepted and exhibited at online exhibitions. Many works from the students of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta have been exhibited and it is hoped that this exhibition will continue to be able to contribute positively to the audience.
"Let’s be productive, creative and innovative at a time like this, this pandemic will not prevent us from being creative. Your work can later be exhibited online," explained the Head of Graphic Design Sub Unit of UKM Art, Naufal.
Naufal hopes this activity can be a forum for designers to share knowledge and experiences regarding graphic design.
