Sleman - Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian and Rafni Syahrani, students of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, succeeded in representing UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) in the National University Debating Championship (NUDC) at the national level. Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian and Rafni Syahrani as well as several PTN and PTS students in Yogyakarta will compete to represent the Higher Education Service Institute (LDIKTI) Region V at the NUDC event organized by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) on 24 - 30 September 2020 via zoom.

This NUDC activity is an annual activity that becomes an arena for students throughout Indonesia to show their best ability in critical thinking and communicating in English.

Tan Elfianka Novyza Siagian as the representative of the National Level NUDC explained that NUDC consists of stage I to stage III. Stage I which was held on 18-31 July 2020 was a portfolio validation stage where the University delegation team registered themselves online and filled in the portfolio of achievements referring to performances and achievements at the international and / or national level.

Furthermore, stage II was held on August 1-14, 2020, which was a recorded debate stage where the higher education delegation team had to record the debate in video format and upload it via a Youtube account.

Phase III held on September 24-30 2020 was an online national level competition stage. At this stage, there were 112 teams from 15 Higher Education Service Institution Areas (LLDIKTI).
