UPNVY Lecturers Encourage the Etablishment of Agro Tourism in Dieng :: dipost pada 19 Oktober 2020

To empower the community through community-based tourism, namely agro tourism, the UPNVY Lecturer Team carried out a community service in collaboration with Perkasa Farmers Group partners in Dieng plateau, Kepakisan village, Batur, Banjarnegara, last July to September 2020.

UPNVY Lecturer Team chaired by Dr. Dyah Sugandini, SE, M.Si, with members Abdul Ghofar, SE, M.Si, and Muhamad Kundarto, SP, MP, provided training and assistance in making chips based on local commodity vegetables

Dyah Sugandini conveyed that the team also provided training and assistance for agro tourism, namely regarding to the use of land as an agro-tourism object.

"Furthermore, there is training in managing home stay," said Dyah Sugandini, through a written statement, Monday (19/10).

According to Dyah Sugandini, this activity could increase people's knowledge and skills about vegetable-based foods, especially local commodities.

"People are now able to manage their own home stay which is collaborated with agro-based tourism," said Dyah Sugandini.

The UPNVY Lecturer Team also provided a guidebook for the manufacture and management of agro-tourism.

"Currently, until the end of the year, we are still providing assistance to Perkasa Farmers' Group regarding to the agro-tourism development," explained Dyah Sugandini.

Dyah Sugandini said, the UPNVY Lecturer Team had mapped the potential of an agro-based tourism village for the local community. The agro tourism being initiated is strawberry picking. Furthermore, vegetable shopping agro tourism by own picking vegetables can be developed for other agricultural products such as potatoes and carrots.

"So, maximizing the other potential of agricultural products, not only relying on the selling price of vegetable commodities whose value is very volatile," said Dyah Sugandini.

The Head of Perkasa Mudasir Farmers Group is very grateful for the service activities of the UPNVY Lecturer Team.
