The Student Association of the Industrial Engineering Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPNVY) successfully carried out a National Seminar and 2020 PPIC Workshop which was held from 31 August to 24 October 2020. The event which is held regularly every year aims to gain insight into the industrial world, in particular regarding to Production Planning and Inventory Control in manufacturing and services. The big theme of the National Seminar and Workshop this year was "PPIC in Service Industry and the Role of Services to Improve the Global Economy". The target participants of this event were the general public, especially industrial engineering people.
Bambang Yuwono, S.T., M.T., as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering for Student Affairs, said this activity was very good even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully, this event has an impact and contribution to the nation.
He added that the series of events this year consisted of essay and poster competitions, seminars and workshops. The initial series was an essay and poster competition with the theme of "The Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on the Service Industry. The competition started on August 31, 2020. The contestants were active students of universities in Indonesia. The participants came from the University of Jember, University of Indonesia, Diponegoro University, and others. The purpose of this competition was to find out how the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced the sustainability of the service industry in Indonesia and how to solve the impact.
Abiyyu as a participant stated that : hopefully, this webinar enlightens my view on PPIC in the service industry. As we all know that the service industry is currently experiencing its heyday.
Abhimanyu hoped that this event gave views, especially for industrial engineering people, to the service industry. In addition, it provided knowledge about production planning and inventory control systems in the service industry. PR
