The ranking increased from the previous year's ranking. The rating shows as a new State University, UPNVY is able to compete with other PTN longer.

This ranking was assessed from various indicators of approximately 4000 State and Private Universities in Indonesia through a Higher Education Database (PDDikti), namely: a) Quality of human resources; b) Institutional Quality; c) Quality of Student Activities; and d) Quality of Research and Scientific Publication.

Responding to the acquisition of rank, the Vice Rector III, Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr.Ir. Singgih Saptono, M.T said UPNVY was grateful for the results. For more, UPNVY is targeting to be in the top 30.

"Alhamdulillah UPNVY in 2017 has reached rank 40. It has reached the target set in the top 50," said Singgih.

Singgih said that to achieve the target of the rankings, several activities would be conducted, such as increasing the number of publications of research results included in the SINTA index, improving the more structured activities and reports of students, and improvement of journals in each study directed into the national accredited journal ranking and included in Scopus.

In addition to academics, UPNVY also targets the achievement of Integrated Management Information System as a quick win of bureaucratic reform in 2017.

According to Press Release MORTHE, Monday (21/07/2017), it is expected that the results of this clustering / grouping can encourage universities in Indonesia to continuously  improve the quality in a sustainable and updated data in Higher Education Database (PD DIKTI) regularly as mandated by Article 56 of Law No.12 of 2012 on Higher Education. In addition, the results of this clustering/ clustering will be used as a consideration to design programs for the upgrading and strengthening of Indonesian universities. (wwj / humas)
