SLEMAN - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) starting today, Monday, August 21, 2017, requires that students of 2017 to wear uniforms. The unusual obligation for the university environment is stated in the Circular Letter Number. 13-0 / UN62 / SE / 2017 signed by the Rector of UPNVY Prof. Dr. Ir. Sari Bahagiarti K, M.Sc.
The circular announcement of the UPNVY new student uniforms usage has been issued on August 18, 2017.
The letter mentions the clothes that should be worn by the students according to the day. Every Monday and Tuesday, male and female students are required to wear neat white shirts and pants or black skirts. Hooded students are required to wear a white veil.
Students are free to wear clean clothes on every Wednesday and Thursday. The students are required to wear batik clothes on Friday. The letter also mentioned that each lecture must begin the class with a prayer led by one of the students. In addition, every lecture finishes it by sitting ready, praying and thanking.
According to Vice Rector III, Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr.Ir. Singgih Saptono, M.T, wearing uniform is an implementation of UPNVY commitment as Bela Negara. "UPN wants to implement these values ??to all university members. Wearing uniform is one of the implementation," said Singgih in his office UPN Condong Catur Building, Tuesday (07/22/2017).
Singgih said the contents of the circular letter will also be applied gradually to the old students FY 2017/2018. Regulations on uniform usage are applied to all students during their education at UPNVY. Sanctions will be made for students who do not wear uniforms for 3 times with lower grades.
The application of uniforms was once applied to UPNVY at the beginning of its establishment in 1966. It was a uniform rule based on the Decree of the Minister of Veterans and Demobilization No. 412.4.9 / 1966 dated 28 July 1966 on the granting of uniforms, leveled attributes, and military lessons. At that time, UPNVY was named of the National Development College (PTPN) "Veteran" Yogyakarta, with the status of service under the guidance of the Ministry of Veterans and Demobilization.
