GRADUATES’ COMPETENCIES

1. Knowledge and Understanding

  1. know and understand basic sciences, i.e. mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
  2. know and understand the fundamental concepts of chemical engineering (mass balance, energy balance, equilibrium, speed process both physical (mass transfer, energy, and momentum) and chemical (chemical kinetics), economics, and humanities.
  3. know and understand the process in chemical industry from the processing of raw material into a value added product.
  4. know and understand the fundamentals in designing a factory of chemical industry, controlling the process, and analyzing its economics.
  5. know and understand the impact of chemical industry on society.

2. Intellectual Skills

  1. master the application of basic sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry).
  2. master and apply the fundamental concepts of chemical engineering in order to design, operate, and control the process of chemical industry.
  3. master and apply the optimization method in the process of chemical industry.
  4. master the design of an economical and health factory of chemical industry (i.e. able to overcome the impact of chemical industry).

3. Practical Skills

  1. able to apply an experiment in chemical engineering.
  2. master the process technology, inter alia, processing of foodstuffs, polymer, petroleum, ceramics and particle technology.
  3. able to use and devise a computer program in determining optimization.

4. Managerial Skills and Attitudes

a.  uphold the ethical/moral codes and professional responsibility, and possess a fighting spirit and nationalistic orientation.

b.  able  to make progress, develop oneself, and professionally resolve problems encountered in chemical industry.

c.  able  to adapt to the development of  the process  technology  of chemical industry and to elaborate on the needs in the field or market making them the parameters of design.

d.   able to communicate and co-operate in teamwork with fair-mindedness.

e.   realize that scientific knowledge keeps on developing, thus requiring graduates to keep learning for an indefinite period of time.

f.  able to communicate effectively by utilizing and applying information and communication technology/ICT.

g.   understand the latest technological issues in chemical industry.
